1. Who we are

PlatePlanner is operated by Plateplanner, who acts as the data controller for personal data processed through the service.

2. Personal data we collect

  • Account data — email address, hashed password, sign-in identifiers (e.g. Google ID if you sign in with Google).
  • Meal planning preferences — household size, budget, food styles, likes, dislikes and chosen supermarket.
  • Subscription data — your subscription status, plan and billing period (we do not store card details — see "Payments" below).
  • Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, log data needed for security and to operate the service.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and manage your account (contract).
  • To generate your personalised meal plans and shopping lists (contract).
  • To process subscriptions and prevent fraud (contract, legitimate interests).
  • To respond to support requests (contract, legitimate interests).
  • To meet legal and tax obligations (legal obligation).

4. Payments

Payments and billing data are handled by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Limited. We share your email address and a user identifier with Paddle so they can process your subscription, send invoices and handle refunds. Paddle's privacy policy is at paddle.com/legal/privacy.

5. Who we share data with

  • Infrastructure providers — Lovable Cloud (hosting and database).
  • Merchant of Record — Paddle, for payments, subscription management, tax and invoicing.
  • Authentication providers — Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Authorities — where required by law.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

7. Retention

We keep your account and preference data for as long as you have an account. Subscription and billing records may be retained for up to 7 years to meet tax obligations. You can request deletion of your account at any time (see "Your rights").

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

9. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and provider-managed at-rest encryption, to protect your data.

10. Cookies

We use only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary to operate the service, including keeping you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

11. Contact

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact Plateplanner via the support channel on this site.
